The official teaser of Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Gangu Bai Kathiawari’ has been released in which actress Alia Bhatt will be seen in the lead role.

According to the Indian Express, the official teaser of ‘Gangu Bai Kathiawari’ has been released on the occasion of the 58th birthday of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The story of this film is based on a chapter of the famous author Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’.

In various teasers of the film, actress Alia Bhatt is seen in the role of Gangu Bai, who is portrayed as free, sharp-tempered, clear-spoken, and a strong person.

Alia Bhatt is playing the lead role in this film while actor Ajay Devgn will also play a brief role.

In the teaser, Alia Bhatt can be heard saying that ‘Gangu was the moon and the moon will remain’.

The teaser of the film briefly shows Gangu Bai’s journey from a brothel owner to a politician in Mumbai’s Kamathipura area.

Before Yazer was released, Alia Bhatt shared a poster of the film, in which she looks very confident looking at the camera.

Sharing the poster, Alia Bhatt said that her film ‘Gangu Bai Kathiawari’ will be released on July 30 this year.

In December last year, Ganguly’s son had filed a case against filmmaker and actress Alia Bhatt over the story of ‘Gangu Bai Kathiawari’.

Babuji Raoji Shah had also filed a case against author Hussain Zaidi, whose novel ‘The Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ is based on the film.

He also sued reporter Jane Borges, whose research was the basis of the book.

Gangu Bai Kathia Wari is Alia Bhatt’s first film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which was supposed to be released in September last year but was delayed due to the global epidemic.
