The Operation Theater of a Private Hospital in Multan Was Sealed After 16 People Lost Their Eyesight

The Punjab government took action on the issue of loss of sight in one eye of 16 persons. A spokesman for the Punjab Healthcare Commission said that the operating theater of a private hospital in Multan was sealed.



A spokesman of the Punjab Healthcare Commission said that a four-member team of the commission seized the record of a private hospital in Multan and the statements of doctors and staff were also recorded.

The Punjab Healthcare Commission said that action would be taken against those responsible after completion of the inquiry.

It is to be noted that 16 people who underwent eye surgery from a doctor in Multan were reported to be visually impaired yesterday. Many patients had alleged that they have completely lost their sight after the operation.

Seven women are among those undergoing eye surgery at a private hospital in Multan.

Dr. Hasnain Mushtaq of a private hospital told Geo News that there was nothing wrong with the operation and that their eyesight was affected by the infection.

The first eye surgery was performed at this hospital, while the people receiving treatment are very poor.
