Mali: Former Maldivian President and Parliament Speaker Nasheed have been injured in a bomb blast.
According to the foreign news agency, 53 former presidents were targeted as they were leaving their home in the capital Mali and sitting in a car. As a result of the blast, Nasheed along with his bodyguard were injured and were shifted to ADK Hospital for immediate medical treatment, where his condition is said to be out of danger.
Maldives Finance Minister Abdullah Shahid has strongly condemned the attack on the former president and said that such cowardly attacks have no place in our country.
Police say the attack used IEDs, which were allegedly planted on a motorcycle parked there.
