More facts have come to light in the murder of Maira, a British citizen, in Defense
A preliminary investigation into the murder of British-born Pakistani girl Maira in the Defense area of Lahore has revealed more facts that Maira had applied to the police for a threat to her life, but the police did not register a case.
It has also been revealed that accused Zahir Jadoon rented a rented car from Maira 3 days before Maira’s murder which went to Islamabad and the tracker of the vehicle was stopped. The rented vehicle was bailed out by Iqra Hamdani, a friend of the slain Maira.

Meanwhile, the owner of Rent-A-Car has requested the police to take action on the disappearance of the vehicle on which action has been initiated by the police. Police said that the accused Zahir Jadoon rented the vehicle as per the plan. According to the authorities, the search for the vehicle is underway.
On the other hand, DIG Operations Sajid Kayani has directed SSP Operations Saifullah to investigate the application of the slain Maira to the police and whether there is any action or registration of the case. DIG Operations said that according to the inquiry report, departmental action will be taken against those responsible.
It may be recalled that Maira Zulfiqar, a British-born Pakistani girl in the Defense area, had filed a petition against Saad Amir on April 20 at Defense B police station before the murder. In the petition, Maira had mentioned the danger to her life.
According to the request of the victim, Saad Amir tried to rape me several times. On April 20, Saad Amir took me to Gulberg in a car at gunpoint. I ran away and thwarted the rape attempt. ۔
Maira said in her application that the accused fled the scene threatening serious consequences when she made noise. Maira Zulfiqar had informed the police about the danger to her life and 2 weeks before the murder. He had asked the police to protect his life.
