Quora News BARCELONA: Technology entrepreneur John McAfee apparently committed suicide by imprisoning himself after a court-ordered his deportation to the United States.

The Dawn newspaper reported that the American entrepreneur, known for his bizarre behavior and video, was the founder of anti-virus software and was charged with tax evasion.

McAfee has been charged in New York with fraudulent currency fraud.

A Spanish court has ruled that McAfee is being deported to the United States for tax evasion.

The 16-page ruling, issued Monday, said the court agreed to extradite John David McAfee at the request of U.S. judicial authorities for his involvement in tax crimes from 2016 to 2016.

McAfee was arrested in Spain in October on charges of deliberately filing tax returns between 2014 and 2018, despite earning millions of dollars by selling consulting services, corrupt currencies, and his life story rights.

An extradition request was filed by US authorities in November, alleging that McAfee earned more than 1 million during the period but never filed a tax return.

“From 2014 to 2018, the defendant earned more than 1 million euros in income and therefore owes millions of dollars in taxes, but did not file a tax return during those years,” the court order said.

The court said that in order to conceal his income and assets from the Internal Revenue Service, the defendant ordered a portion of his income to be paid to anonymous persons and made property in their name.

The Spanish court’s decision only dealt with crimes from 2016 to 2018, when he was arrested in Barcelona on October 3 last year. McAfee was about to board a flight to Istanbul.
