Karachi: Guard Opened Fire During the Shooting of a Play, Nine People Were Injured

Nine people were injured when a guard opened fire during the shooting of a television drama at a house in the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) area of ​​Rachi.

Police said security guards were stationed in the same bungalow where the shooting was taking place, identified as Gul Bhai, who opened fire after exchanging words with the play’s producer.

According to the Karachi Police Media Cell, nine persons sustained minor injuries in the firing and the bungalow is located at DHA Phase 6, Khayaban-e-Shujaat.

Police said the “firing security guard has been arrested” and all the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medical treatment.

Clifton Police Station Station Officer (SHO) Pir Sabir Haider said that according to the preliminary investigation, the incident took place after the producer exchanged bitter words with the security guard over the food issue.

He said no further details were available. According to police, the nine injured are between 22 and 40 years old. He said police were investigating the incident further.
