Saudi Arabia: Several Foreigners Arrested for Violating Saudiization and Labor Laws

The committee responsible for the implementation of Saudiization in Al-Aflaj Commissionerate has visited various markets, malls and shops in the city and found violations of Saudiization and labor laws.

According to the Sabq website, Abdullah bin Ghalib Al-Mutairi, acting commissioner of Al-Aflaj, said that “an investigation has been carried out to prevent any kind of violation in the market”.

“Foreign businesses in the name of Saudis have also been seized in the city’s markets, shopping malls and shops,” he said.

“There are also foreigners whose residency has expired or who were working for someone other than the sponsor.”

“Investigators have also arrested a foreigner who was working for Saudi nationals.”

“All the foreigners who were caught working illegally during the investigation have been handed over to the deportation department,” he said.

It should be noted that the Saudiization Enforcement Committee includes representatives of Al-Falaj Commissioner, Municipality, Police, Maktab-ul-Amal and other relevant agencies besides the Ministry of Commerce.
