Actress, filmmaker and social leader Ayesha Sultana alias Ayesha Lakshadweep has been charged with treason by the Indian government for using Corona as a ‘bio weapon’.
According to the Indian newspaper The Hindu, the provisions of ‘treason’ and ‘hate speech’ against Ayesha Sultana, a resident of Lakshadweep, a centrally administered island region, at the request of local BJP president Abdul Qadir The case was filed under.
A case was filed against Ayesha Sultana at Kuwarati police station in Lakshadweep.

According to The Indian Express, Ayesha Sultana had said in a talk show on Malayalam-language TV channel Media One TV that the Indian government was using Corona as a biological weapon in the Lashkar Gah area. ۔
Although the social leader and actress spoke about the government’s strategies to control corona in the Lakshadweep area, she said the administration was using the epidemic as a “bio-weapon”.

The filmmaker had sharply criticized the government’s policies towards Corona in the central region, after which the BJP president had asked her to file a case against him under the provisions of ‘treason’ and ‘hate speech’. ۔
Later, Ayesha Sultana also confirmed in her Facebook post that a case of ‘treason’ has been filed against her but she will not give up such steps and will continue her struggle.
In this regard, New Delhi Television (NDTV) reported that after the news of Ayesha Sultana’s treason case came to light, several politicians and social leaders supported her and criticized the government.

Lakshadweep is an island nation near the Indian state of Kerala, with a population of less than 65,000.
Lakshadweep has a unique significance in terms of tourism, it was also ruled by Tipu Sultan in the 17th century.
Corona cases have been on the rise in Lakshadweep since 2021, when there were almost no cases from December 2019 to December 2020.
