Israel has blamed Iran for attacking an oil tanker two days ago and killing two crew members.
An oil tanker off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea was attacked on Thursday, killing people from Britain and Romania, according to foreign news agency AFP.
The oil tanker “MV Mercer Street” was managed by London-based company Zodiac Maritime, which belongs to the Israeli shipping family.
The company said it was investigating the attack.
Later, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lipid accused Iran of being involved in the attack.
He said that Iran is an issue not only of Israel but of the whole world on which the international community should not remain silent as it threatens the freedom of shipping and world trade.
The Israeli official said Tehran was sowing the seeds of violence and destruction.
The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Mosul.
It added that initial indications were for a drone-style attack and that US Navy ships were now carrying the ship with US personnel on board for help.
The Israeli official warned that our campaign against Tehran would continue.
The ship was in the North Indian Ocean and was en route from Dar es Salaam to Fujairah when it was attacked.
Oman’s state news agency said the country’s navy dispatched a ship and confirmed that the attack took place outside the country’s territorial waters.
