KARACHI: Rafiq Afghan, editor-in-chief of Ummah daily, has passed away due to illness.
Funeral prayers of Rafiq Afghan were offered at Al-Fatah Mosque, Kidney Hill Park.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Rafiq Afghan, PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif said that Rafiq Afghan had dedicated his life to furthering the journalistic mission of Salahuddin Shaheed.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Rafiq Afghan was a journalist with a strong ideological commitment who loved Pakistan. He proved his pen and editorial skills by adding a new newspaper to Pakistani journalism.
The PML-N President, while praying for the elevation of the ranks of the Editor-in-Chief of the daily Ummah, said that may Allah Almighty grant him a high position in Paradise.
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Muhammad Hussain Mohanti also expressed condolences to the family of Rafiq Afghan, editor-in-chief of Ummah daily and prayed for his forgiveness.
