The court has once again rejected the bail plea of Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who was arrested in a pornography case.
According to the Times of India, Raj Kandra’s judicial remand was completed on August 20, after which he applied for bail but was rejected by the Sessions Court in Mumbai.
He will remain in police custody till the end of August after his bail was rejected by a local court.
Shilpa Shetty’s husband was arrested by Mumbai police on July 19 last month in a pornographic film-making case, after which he was produced in court and remanded in custody.
The local court initially handed over Raj Kandra to the police for two weeks and his bail application was later rejected in early August.

Upon completion of Raj Kandra’s remand, the court handed him over to the police for a further period and he will remain in the police station till the end of August.
Following the arrest of Raj Kandra and the rejection of his repeated bail pleas, his lawyers have leveled serious allegations against the police, claiming that not a single formal charge has been leveled against him in the chargesheet.

Lawyers for Shilpa Shetty’s husband said police had filed a 4,000-page chargesheet against her client, but there was no evidence that a single pornographic video had been recovered.
Raj Kandra’s lawyers also differentiated between pornographic and pornographic material, arguing that a video showing sex is called pornography, while videos of other nude scenes are called inappropriate and obscene.

According to the Times of India, although a local court in Mumbai has twice rejected Raj Kandra’s bail application, the Bombay High Court has granted him pre-arrest bail in another case.
A case of making pornographic films was also filed against Raj Kandra in 2020 and he had applied to the court for pre-arrest to avoid arrest in the said case.
After her husband’s arrest, police also summoned Shilpa Shetty to record a statement in which she denied allegations that her husband had made pornographic films.
Raj Kandra has been in jail for the past month and a half and police have also launched an investigation against his wife Shilpa Shetty, but so far no evidence has been found that the actress was involved in making pornographic films.
