The teaser of the telefilm ‘Ek Hai Nigar’ based on the life of Pakistan’s first woman Lieutenant General Nigar Johar has been released in which actress Mahira Khan will play her role.
News has been circulating for the past few days that Mahira Khan will soon appear on screen as the first woman lieutenant-general of the Pakistan Army, Nigar Johar.
In the viral posts, it was also said that the shooting of the said telefilm is going on at the Army Medical College in Rawalpindi and Mahira Khan is also a part of it.
After which a teaser of a telefilm on the life of Pakistan’s first woman Lieutenant General Nigar Johar was released on the occasion of Independence Day.
The telefilm is being produced with the support of the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) and will be released on the private channel ARY Digital.
In the teaser released on various social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram and Twitter, actress Mahira Khan in a Pakistan Army uniform can be seen standing outside the Army Medical College as a lieutenant general.
The story of ‘Ek Hai Nigar’ has been written by renowned novelist and playwright Umairah Ahmed and is being directed by Adnan Sarwar.
The telefilm will be released on a private TV channel under the banner of Nina Kashif and Mahira Khan’s production house Civil Fry.
The cast of the telefilm includes Mahira Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Sohail Sameer among others.
While releasing the teaser of this telefilm, ISPR said that it will be aired soon.
According to private channel ARY, ‘Ek Hai Nigar’ is a tribute to Pakistan’s first female lieutenant general Nigar Johar, a great symbol of women’s empowerment in Pakistan.
On the other hand, actress Mahira Khan, while sharing the teaser of this telefilm, wrote, “It is an honor for me to play the role of a woman whom I like very much who is the first female three-star general of the Pakistan Army.”
He said that ‘Ek Hai Nigar’ tells the story of the life and career of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.
Mahra Khan further wrote, “What a life, what a story, he is a great personality among us.”
The teaser of the telefilm was also released by Umairah Ahmed, who wrote the story of ‘Ek Hai Nigar’.
It may be recalled that Nigar Johar Khan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in the Pakistan Army in June last year, before which she was serving as a Major General.
She became the first female military officer to hold the post. She was promoted to the rank of Surgeon General of the Pakistan Army in June 2020.
Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar is a graduate of the Army Medical College and has extensive experience in leading the administration and various affairs in his nearly three-decade career in the Pakistan Army.
He holds an MCPS in Family Medicine, an MSc in Advanced Medical Administration, and a Masters in Public Health.
She was also awarded the Imtiaz Military Medal and the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for her outstanding services to the Army Medical Corps.
