The Sri Lanka Cricket Board is ready to apply for the transfer of the Asia Cup.

According to Indian media, Sri Lankan officials say that it is not possible to host the Asia Cup due to a severe economic crisis in the country.

According to sources, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board will request the Asian Cricket Council to transfer the Asia Cup.

The United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh are likely to be the two strongest candidates to host the Asia Cup if it moves from Sri Lanka.

In this regard, a few days ago, the head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazemul Hassan had a statement in which he said that if the Asia Cup is moved from Sri Lanka, then Bangladesh will be a strong candidate to host.

Sources said that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has no intention of canceling the bilateral series with Australia and Pakistan while India intends to play 2 T20 matches against Sri Lanka before the Asia Cup.

According to Indian media, Indian Cricket Board wants to help Sri Lanka Cricket Board through 2 T20 matches.

It may be recalled that the Asia Cup cricket tournament is scheduled from August 27 to September 11 in Sri Lanka.
