Christmas in Corona Epidemic - Masked chocolate Santa Claus

ATHENS / BUDAPEST: Two separate Greek and Hungarian artists have worn protective masks to their wax and chocolate Santa Claus to celebrate Christmas as well as to raise awareness of the global Korna epidemic.

It should be noted that the Corona virus epidemic has intensified once again, while the United States and European countries are severely affected. In addition to several states in the United States, several European countries have either been locked down again or preparations have been made for a lockdown.

Under such circumstances, no one knows whether Christmas will be celebrated in the traditional way this year or not. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average European artist.

Alexius Xerxes, a 37-year-old candle maker in the small Greek town of Thessaloniki, has created special Santa Claus-shaped candles with Santa Claus wearing a blue protective mask.

He expects the same candles to be used in New Year's celebrations, so he has written 2021 on each mask so that they can be sold after Christmas.

On the other hand, Laslo Remushi, an artisan who makes candies and cake pastries in the Hungarian town of Lahosmez, has created "chocolate Santa Claus" with white cream on their faces.

Speaking to Reuters, Remoshi said that the "masked chocolate Santa Claus" was made as a joke and was posted on a local website for online sale.

He hoped very few people would pay attention to it, but, contrary to his expectations, he had a flurry of people buying masked chocolate Santa Claus.

Most people liked the idea because it included Christmas as well as caution.

Remoshi says that as Christmas approaches, orders for Chocolate Santa Claus are on the rise, and he still receives at least 100 orders for Chocolate Santa Claus every day, which he and his girlfriend have to fulfill. Stay busy from morning to evening.

Restrictions have also increased in Europe as the Corona epidemic has intensified again and most people are now preferring to shop online. In such a situation, Remoshi hopes that in the next few weeks, his business will grow and make up for the losses he had to bear due to the lockdown from March to July.
