Urdu Flex – Pakistan’s First Urdu OTT Platform has been Launch

E-Max Media Group has finally launched ‘Urdu Flex’ after announcing the introduction of Pakistan’s first OTT platform last year.

It should be noted that OTT (over-the-top) platforms UrduFlix give consumers access to movies, dramas, and shows on the Internet for a fee and the digital age has seen an increase in the on-demand streaming culture around the world.

In October last year, Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry had hinted that the government would soon launch a streaming website, like Netflix with the name of UrduFlex.

Fawad Chaudhry had said that the Ministry of Science and Technology has completed a lot of work on the streaming website and the ministry has asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to prepare guidelines for airing content.

However, no progress has been made on the introduction of the streaming website by the government but a private digital media platform had announced the introduction of the streaming website soon.

In November 2020, Emax Media Group’s digital media group, which already runs a streaming website, announced that it would launch a Netflix-style website, UrduFlex, featuring purely Urdu dramas, movies, Drama translated into Turkish Urdu, including documentaries, comedy, and reality shows, will be broadcast.

Later, UrduFlex’s Instagram post said that the platform will be launched in January 2021, after which it was said that users will be able to access the content from February 26.

Urdu Flex website is also available while users can also download its app from Google Play Store and Apple Play Store.

Original web series is also available on the Urdu OTT platform, including Aliza Shah’s Bride and One Night, Mashal Khan’s Envelope Witch, and Hareem Shah’s Secrets.

In addition, the trailer of the upcoming Urdu Flex web series ‘Aurat Gardi’ has also been released recently in which Jawariya Saud and Ali Khan will act.

If you take a look at UrduFlex’s website, Turkish, Iranian and popular Arabic shows are also available on the platform. There are also shows for kids like Motu Patio and RU Smarter Din Pahlaj.

Keep in mind that the user can watch a drama or movie on such websites only when he subscribes to this website for a fee.
