ISLAMABAD: Asad Umar has said that people, especially women, should start shopping for Eid now as there may be a lockdown in the future.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Covid in which federal ministers and senior provincial officials participated and provincial chief ministers participated through video link. The meeting also considered tightening the Corona restrictions and proposed 10 holidays in educational institutions on Eid.
Outdoor dining is also banned
In a media briefing after the meeting, the head of NCOC and Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that there may be a situation where cities have to be locked down. Outdoor dining is also being banned till Eid but only takeaways. And home delivery of food will be allowed, and gyms and exercise centers are being banned.
Schools closed in areas with more than 5% cases
Asad Umar said that offices should be closed at 2 pm and no more than 50 percent of people should be called. In areas where the rate of corona-positive cases is more than 5 percent, schools will be closed till Eid, including matriculation and inter-classes.
Including, the bazaar will be open till 6 pm after that only essentials shops will be open, the bazaar will not be open after Iftar, women should do Eid shopping on the day and start from now, don’t wait for the last days because Maybe further locked down.
Asad Omar said that 90% of the oxygen used has reached production capacity, 80% of which is being used for corona and health, trying to improve its supply and can also import from abroad.
