Emirates Airlines Leave 70 Passengers at Karachi Airport for Non-Taking Rapid PCR Test

Due to the non-taking of PCR test of passengers at Pakistani airports, Emirates Airlines refused to take Pakistani passengers to Dubai while 70 passengers from Karachi airport were prevented from leaving for Dubai.

According to Manager Karachi Airport, more than 60 passengers of Emirates Airlines flight EK601 from Karachi to Dubai were not issued boarding cards due to lack of rapid PCR test. He also protested.

According to the CAA spokesperson, the UAE has made it a condition for Pakistani passengers to have a rapid PCR test at the airport four hours before the flight.

According to sources, the detained passengers had PCR test reports of approved laboratories. When the passengers reached the airport before the flight, they were asked to perform rapid PCR test at the airport under the new rules.

Health department sources stationed at Karachi airport said that rapid PCR test facility is not available anywhere in Pakistan. On Friday, passengers could not leave for Dubai from any Pakistani airport except Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar except Karachi. Only transit passengers traveled through the airlines.

However, it is interesting to note that 130 Pakistani passengers left Karachi for Sharjah on Friday evening via another UAE airline, Air Arabia, without a rapid PCR test.
